Machine Needles

A while back I Have A Notion had a needle exchange program, I sent in a used machine needle and she sent me new one back. I liked this needle much better than the ones that I have been using for years so I bought some. One of these needles out lasted my normal brand of needle  by about twice the time. I say twice the time because I think it was even longer. I ordered a couple of different sizes to try. Even though the initial price is a bit more than the needles that I usually buy they are cheaper in the long run because I am not changing my needle as much. I am not advertising for Kelly but I just like this needle that much  and her service is quick and cheap.I thought I would let you know about it and also ask you about yours.

What brand of needle do you use and how often do you change it? Also what size do you normally use?

What has been happening since I was away?

Hello everyone! I have been absent and my visits to blog-town have been sparse lately. I have just been away for a while. I have started quilting both of those Use It Up quilts! Finally!  I have another one that I have the blocks all made but need to get them sewn together.

I just changed my profile photo to the photo on this post. Hope all of you are busy creating and staying warm now that the weather has changed. Actually I am trying out this new computer!

My Sewing Space

Kristina at Sew Domestic is hosting a Studio Blog Tour this week. Here is my space.
Any place is a good place for your "studio" as long as you can sew I guess it doesn't really matter. Some people use the kitchen table, I did for years, some have a room all to themselves and some just make space where they can.
My space is in the main part of the house. We have a small house and this is in what should be the dining area. We use the kitchen counter/bar to eat and my computer is right there at the end of the bar . When I cut fabric I use the counter. The old stand in the corner is used to trim up blocks. My husband put some wood under the legs for it to be a bit higher so I didn't have to bend over so much and so I could store thread under there. I can sit and sew till my heart is content.

The five questions: What do you use your space for, I use mine to sew quilts.

Favorite thing about my space, I have one where I can sew and no one cares what it looks like. My husband never complains when it gets really messy.

What struggles do I have with my space? Well it is never big enough but I could have a house all to myself and it wouldn't be big enough I have my fabric in a closet in another part of the house, my cutting mat under the bed and I use the floor in the living room for a design wall but at least I have a place to sew.

When do you use your space? I use it every chance I get. Sometimes every day and sometimes only once or twice a week, depends on what else is going on.

Share an organizational technique that works for you. I like the old stand with the drawers in it that I use when I trim blocks. The drawers in that old stand are as long as the stand is and each drawer is half as deep as the stand so they hold a multitude of mess.

It is nothing fancy but it is mine, what is yours like, come and join the Studio Blog Tour over at Kristina's and join the fun. There are some nice prizes too. Just click on the link and scroll down or use the button on my side bar to enter and look at all the other nice places people have to craft/sew in.
