Silk Ribbon
Well here it is January already. Christmas passed quickly and the New Year's was just a flash. I have been working on some Silk Ribbon embroidery. I don't know too much about it but did a lot of research on the internet and I did buy a couple of books with a 40% off cupon that I had. I came home and got a piece of linen that I had started another project on and it didn't work out so I used that. I thought the silk ribbon flowers turned out rather well for a first time. They do say that it is so easy that even a beginner can have good results and it is true because I did. I have since done another one. There was no plan to this I was just trying out some stitches. The second one I did on plain cotton. I matted and framed them both and sent them to my life long friend that I call Sis. If you click on the photo it will make it bigger and you can see the lines for the other project. Lesson learned on that one but it was matted so it didn't really show.
This other one I thought turned out a bit nicer at the bottom. I filled it in more with frech knots. Some of the flowers didn't turn out too good but it was all just an experiment anyway. I don't know of any other way to get started other than just do it. The flowers look as though they have been wind blown and I may have gotten it a bit crooked in the frame also I don't think the angle of the camera was too good.
