BOM******Flying Geese

With the computer in shop all week I had a chance to get my BOM's done. I really like working with the Batiks, they are so vibrant. I am not good at HST's but I thought OK we shall see, I will just take it slow and easy on them. I was amazed that I didn't have any problems. They all went together just fine. I was really pleased with the result and they were fun to do. These are supposed to be a border for the quilt. Can't wait to see what the other blocks are.
I quilted the Pink quilt today, I have to trim it up and get the binding on it then I will post a photo of it. By the way, the Pink pattern is called...Crazy Eights. I know a couple people wondered if it was Yellow Brick Road. I think they do look a lot alike.

Nice gaggle of geese there!

I wonder if the pattern will be random placement or a color wave around the body of the quilt.

Glad you are back online - computer glitches are bad....need to update my back-up soon...

Thank you for visiting my blog! And the nice comments on my Batik Puzzle Quilt. Your flying geese are so pretty, I have fallen in love with batiks. This quilt was my first experience with batiks and now I have quite a gorgeous stash of left over fabrics to play with.
I thought of using Flying Geese for my borders then decided to use the small inside square in triangles to piece so it would be a reflection of my other blocks.
I am very new to blogging but found the Wizard of Oz party site just in time to join in all the fun. My Wizard of Oz quilts have been so much fun, 10 in all! The last collection in the series of 6 comes out next year. The title is There's No Place Like Home. I can hardly wait.
The batik quilt should be named Prayers for Dale! My husband got some worrying results from his colonoscopy two weeks ago. With my blocks already made I pushed myself to get it machine quilted during the waiting period for test results. God blessed us with no cancer, but Dale is having surgery tomorrow to remove 1/3 of colon to remove very advanced polyps. Please add us to your prayers. He is 62 and in very good health so I am praying for a smooth recovery and getting back to work and of course --- GOLF--- I do my best sewing when he is golfing! Love the quiet time.
Thanks again for your kind comments of my work.
