Friday Night Sew In Project

I started this quilt during the Friday Night Sew In. I have finally gotten the top together but it needs borders yet. Not sure what I will do yet. I think a small brown to match the sashing then I am not sure what. It will be a good sized lap quilt when I am done, approx. 66 X 66. I like how it has turned out so far. I will get some border and backing fabric at the 20% bag sale on Saturday at my LQS.
Now a sad story, the yellow quilt I was working on........well I had purchased the last of that yellow the quilt shop had. I wasn't sure how the quilt would progress when I got the fabric and then I switched gears in the middle, anyway I wanted the yellow on the outside for the binding but I have ordered 4 different yellows and had to wait since before Christmas for the one to come in. It finally came today and sadly no match, not even close, it was way to orange so I am going to take some of the blue and use that for binding. I guess the little guy won't mind, I hope. The thing I was disgusted about is that I could have had the quilt done a long time ago and he could be snuggled up under it right now. Well soon enough I guess. I am going to get the yellow one done and in the mail before I do anything else.

Marlene - the quilt is turning to be sooo pretty! I absolutely love it.

I am sure your grandson wouldn't mind at all at the last minute change of plans! ;) He will feel like he is the stuff snuggling under Grandma's quilt.

Hugs.

Your quilt is gorgeous. I love the colours you're using. Isn't it annoying when you run out of fabric? I'm sure your grandson will love whatever you do.

Your grandson will adore you because you made it, and anyway the colour might look better than you expect when it's all made up. Are you on for the next sew-in?

Wow, the quilt top is stunning! Your piecing is so precise, very impressive.

Too bad about the yellow fabric :) I'm sure he won't mind, but I know it's disappointing when you envisioned something a certain way and it doesn't work out. I'm sure it will be beautiful!

I love the colors you used in that quilt! It's so homey and comfortable looking. Sorry about the yellows. But, at least you have something else you can use, and he's not going to outgrow it before you're finished. Lane

This is just beautiful! I'm going to have to jump in on this Friday nite sew-in idea....my DH has some things going on for a couple of weeks on Friday so this would be a good time to make some quilting progress!

The quilt is gorgeous. The brown will make a great narrow border. I finally have internet so have been catching up on blogs. Guess what! I bought the kit to make the glacier quilt when we were in Alaska. It is in sea freight somewhere between here and the US at the moment. I love yours. It looks great-cant wait to see it quilted.
