Silk Ribbon Embroidery

Last night I was hunting for some fabric to use for an embroidery project. I remembered that I had two totes full of bits and pieces of fabric from here and there, some silk etc. for different projects. I buy all of that at Hobby Lobby and Joann's in the bargain bins so I don't pay much for it. Anywhoo, I found this silk ribbon embroidery that I had worked on a while back. I think that I had been working on it before I went to take care of my mom a year ago. It is amazing how quickly you forget about different projects when they get tucked away. When I pulled it out of its nice hiding spot I was amazed. I guess I didn't' think it looked very good when I had tucked it away but last night I thought gee this looks OK. Maybe I should get it finished up. I know that I wanted to put some more french knots on it and I am not sure what else. I got the idea from a book by Helen Dafter called Embroidered Silk Ribbon Treasures. A very talented lady. If you click on her name it will take you to her web site.

That embroidery is beautiful! I love all the colors - with all the snow we are having, it is nice to see some spring flowers! :o)

That is so pretty and looks like so much work. When I get out my needlepunch embroidery I am always amazed and how great it looks and vow to start doing it again. Nice to pull out projects and just pick up where you left off! Lisa

That's beautiful. I'm always amazed when I tuck things away cause I don't think I did a good job how OK they look when I come across them again. Have fun finishing it and post it cause I'd love to see it finished.

Wow, this is stunning! I definitely think you should finish it. How pretty would it be as a pillow, or even framed?
