When I was taking care of my mom last year the lady next door showed me a quilt she had made many years ago. I posted about it here. I just loved it and have wanted to make one like it.
My mom, at 84, works for an auctioneer and they find all sorts of good things. I had asked her to look for some ties . She finally found some. Not all the boxes from that estate have been sorted yet but she did send me a few. These people must have owned a clothing store because there were sample fabrics for ties in the box as well. I need to get them all washed so I can take them apart.
I did make one Sunbonnet Sue quilt from the Quilt In A Day series (I don't think I ever posted that one) but I sort of wanted to draw my own Sue. I have a few drawings and even made a test Sue out of some scrap fabric but I had to revise the pattern a little, so I can't show that to you. This is a project that is going to take me a long time to do. I just thought it would be fun to do as time allows and the mood to work on it strikes. Just another work in progress, I have so many of those I shouldn't even think of starting another one. I hope I can keep at it and work along on this one so it doesn't just sit in the closet and take up room. Well here's hoping .......

Those are some beautiful fabrics in the ties. Quite a nice bounty!
Designing your own Sue sounds like a great idea. Can't wait to see the first one.

What you have drawn so far looks good, Marlene. And what a great idea to use fabrics from ties!!!
As long as you are having fun, you can have as many WIP's as you wish, my dear friend. :)
Hugs.
p.s. Thanks for your kind words on my heirloom pillow.
