WIP Wednesday

Freshly Pieced hosts a WIP Wednesday, for the link click on my side bar. This is my first time linking up. I only have one project to show but that is because I thought I would start with this one.

This is a small wall hanging that I am working on. The fabric is Dragonfly Summer by Holly Taylor for Moda. I have over half of the wedges made and the rest of them cut. I am going to use the cream that is in this line of fabric for the background, I think. I also have a fabric that is a little darker and will figure that out once I get the wedges all made and laid out.  I may change some of the wedges out for some lighter ones if I use the darker background. At this point I am undecided about it. I wanted to wait and see what they look like all sewn. The centers for the wedges will be the lighter prints. I am using 2 charm packs for this wall hanging. You can get 2 wedges out of one charm and they make a nice size wedge to work with. I am planning on hand stitching them onto the fabric, I hope that isn't a mistake.

Looks lovely so far! I think the depth of colors so far looks great, and I think they'll work well with the cream background. :)

This will be beautiful! I think it's fantastic you're going to hand stitch them on. It'll be worth a lot more that way, too.

I just recently made my first Dresden block after having the ruler for several years. I think stitching the blades down by hand went pretty quickly. Also found out you can get nice sized wedges and quite a few out of a jelly roll. Love your fabrics; can't wait to see your finished project.
