A Little Yellow Duck

A Little White Duck sittin' in the water..... does anyone remember that song? It was one of my favorites when I was a kid. I kept hearing that in my head when I made this card. Having seen some of the fabric cards I thought I would try to make one. I really like them . My youngest daughter just had another baby and I thought it would be a good time to make one and also to try some Free Motion quilting. You can see that I don't have much imagination for card making but I learned a lot and had fun, besides I got to practice some free motion quilting and that couldn't be bad, right? I did use a decorative stitch on the outside of the card but I am not a pro at using decorative stitches. Why do I have them all if I don't use them? I didn't think I did a very good job on it but I am sending it to her reguardless of what it really looks like. She is used to my"experiments" and I think she will enjoy it. I have to make a quilt for this baby but I am already in the hole on this twice. This is her 4th and I am ashamed to say that I have not made #2 or #3's quilts yet.

I did make a quilt for baby #1, it was a machine embroidered quilt with a sail boat theme. I did post about it in July of 08 (click on Machine Embroidered Quilt just below to see the quilt)

The card is adoreable. I've never tried fabric cards. Sounds like you better get busy with the baby quilts :0) You are so blessed to have 4 grandchildren.
