Work In Progress

W's quilt
I have been busy putting these blocks together for my youngest grand daughter. These are the blocks that I had made some time ago and then didn't care too much for them after I got them all made and laid out. Then they had to be put on hold for quite some time. The other day I got them back out and laid them out again. I thought they aren't so bad just put them together and see. I am in the process of that now. There are so many seams to match and I goofed on the seam directions when I laid them out but noticed it a little too late because of the way I started sewing them. It is going a bit slow but I am taking my time on it. I ordered the backing and border fabrics on Monday. Maybe by the end of next week I can have the top all done and be ready to quilt it.

I hope you all have a good weekend. Ours will be a hot one I am sure. We seem to have gone from the cooler weather of spring right into our July and August (HOT) weather overnight. Lots of storms here to go along with the heat and the humidity is just awful. Good time to stay inside and sew, sew, sew..that is where I will be.

Lots of storms here, too. Last night, one knocked out the power to my son's daycare, so he had to come to work with me this morning. Thankfully, they opened up at 11 AM, because 4 year olds and my job do not mix!

The quilt looks great. I find that sometimes I get sick of something and decide I don't like it and when I go back to it I like it again. It will be gorgeous when it is finished.

I love your blocks! Is that the *Blush* fabric line? I am getting ready to put the binding on a little Schnibbles quilt that I made, using those fabrics.

Cute blocks! We had some storms here last night, but we need the rain for the gardens to grow...

Very pretty,I am sure she will like and never notice the wrong seams.sometimes I forget where I put one.

I can relate to ironing/sewing the seams so that they don't match up nicely in the next step.

If you haven't started sewing the blocks together, how would it look with a small sashing in the border fabric? At least you wouldn't have to fight the seams.

Your blocks look great - I can't wait to see the finished product. We have had the best weather in years in MN! Not too many storms thankfully! Lisa

WOW - what a sweet quilt, Marlene. Your granddaughter is blessed. It looks like a big quilt too. She will be able to use it for years.
