Resolutions?

I am not much on making resolutions because I always forget about them or I just don't 'hang in there' with them. However, this year I am sick of eating the same old thing and I don't like cooking much either so that is why we eat the same old thing all the time.

My hubby has this awful shift and we have a small house, as I have mentioned before, so I stay quiet while he is sleeping. He doesn't leave till late at night and that leaves little time for my sewing and there are other things that have to be done. It never fails that I just get to sewing and have to stop and cook.

A while back I bought a crock pot and thought I would like to start using it, well it just sits there so a few weeks ago I got a crock pot cook book and you know what I am going to say..... Yup, I am going to start using that crock pot more often. When I went to get groceries I took the book with me and got what was needed for 2 different recipes. If I can keep this up we will be eating some different things for a change and I won't have to give up a lot of sewing time. Now don't expect a lot of great recipes from me because I am not sure how all this will turn out. I will probably drop the whole thing after while and go back to eating the same old thing. If anyone has any great crock pot recipes they can send my way I would love it.

I also see some new quilted pot holders in my future.............

I hope you all had a safe and Happy New Year.

I have some recipes that are great. One is for tex mex pulled pork. You can serve it on fajitas or rolls with cheddar cheese and some sour cream. I have another for Sticky chicken. Its a whole chicken that you rub seasonings into the night before, refrigerate, and pop it in the crock pot the next day with a cup up onion inside. The skin doesn't brown, but it is the most delicious chicken ever! I also have one for bourbon chicken that is yummy over rice. Let me know if your interested!! Oh, and soup or stew or chili is simple and easy in the crock pot! Have a wonderful week!

Chicken breasts and chopped onions on the bottom, pour cream of chicken soup on top, and cook until chicken is done. After that, add quartered refrigerated biscuits (cut them into 4 pieces) and cook for about half an hour or so or until the biscuits are cooked through. Chicken and dumplings!

I have just started to use my crock pot more often and have a delicious chicken recipe.
Place 6 bonless, skinless chicken breast halves into the crockpot. Then add one can of cream of cheese soup and 2 cans of cream of chicken soup (do not add any water). Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
It is super easy, moist, tasty, and hubby and children approved!

ps. if the recipe seems to big you can freese leftovers for another meal.

Well done, crock pots are the saviour of the quilter who doesn't know what time it is and that the rest of the household is starving. Fills the house with promising smells too! Good move!
